Oral MedicationSublingual Tablets (Lozenges)
Lozenges are one of the more popular treatments for Premature Ejaculation. Theses are taking as per the doctor’s advice, normally ¼ lozenge taken daily and then another prior to intercourse. The active ingredient used is Clomipramine, which desensitises the penile muscles to prolong ejaculation time. Because Clomipramine gradually reduces the sensitivity of the nerves, it is internationally recognised as the leading treatment for Premature Ejaculation when combined with exercises like the Stop/Start technique. Possible Side Effects:
• Blurred Vision or Light Sensitivity• Dry Mouth • Drowsiness • Dizziness Rare Side Effects: • Nausea or Indigestion • Sweating • Constipation • Hot Flushes • Anxiety • Increased Appetite • Diarrhoea • Headache • Tremor • Muscle Fatigue and Pruritus (Itchiness) • Paralytic Ileus • Myoclonus • Skin Rashes • Peripheral Neuropathy • Increased Blood Pressure • Tinnitus • Allergic Reaction • Blood Disorder It is prudent to avoid using heavy machinery or excess alcohol within 24 hours of use. Patients with the following should only use Clomipramine with Medical Advice: • Heart Disease or abnormal heart rhythms (Arrhythmia) • Prostate trouble or difficulty passing urine • Glaucoma, Epilepsy, Thyroid problems or if being treated with Thyroxin • If taking Anti-Depressants • Low Blood Pressure of untreated High Blood Pressure • Using other drugs such as Cimetidine, Quinidine, Anticoagulants, Anticholinergics or other anti-depressants or anti-arrhythmics |
